Setting up and solving for the temperature profile in Maple

We start with the equation of energy, and continue until we develop a potential equation for temperature.

1st maple part

Now that we have an expression for T, we need to find the temperature profile for the system. The book gives it to us in the form seen in eqn 18.5-8. We need to check it to see if it works.

2nd maple part

So this check eqn 18.5-8 and shows that it is a valid expression for the temperature profile of this system.
The final step in solving this problem is to investigate the relationship between heat and mass transfer when the occur simultaneously. We have already seen that Maas flux is not affected by simultaneous heat transfer, but is heat transfer affected by simultaneous mass transfer? We will do this by solving for equation 18.5-9.

3rd maple part

This ratio between heat transfer without mass transfer and heat transfer in the case of mass flux will be useful in determining within which problems you could ignore the mass transfer equations while determining the heat transfer.
