Simultaneous Heat and Mass Transfer
Develop expressions for the concentration profile xA(z)
and temperature profile T(z) for the system pictured in the image
below, given the concentrations and temperatures at both film bouadaries
(z = 0, z = delta). Here a hot condensable vapor, A,
is diffusing at steady state grhough a stanant film of noncondesable gas,
B, to a cold surface at z = 0 where A condenses. Assume
that the gas behavior is ideal and that the pressure and the physical properties
of the mixture are constant. Neglect radiative heat transfer and thermal
diffusion.
