Project Proposal
Student teams will propose a new genetic circuit according
to the Project Proposal Guidelines.
- The Brainstorming document
is a TEAM assignment and is due after lab day 6: submit
this assignment as .doc or .docx in OWL-Space
- Each TEAM will give a Project Presentation
on the last day of class on the idea that you have chosen for your proposal. This 10-minute presentation should be divided into two sections:
- Description of the need for your biotechnology (i.e., the current problem that it helps overcome): describe the magnitude of the challenge and what people currently are doing to deal with it
- Outline of your DNA device: include the parts that are
needed to build it, a schematic of the genetic circuit,
and methods that will be needed to test its function
- The Project Proposal, which is 25% of
your final grade, is a TEAM
project; each member
will receive the SAME grade.
Therefore, EACH of you is responsible for the ENTIRE proposal,
not just the part(s) you worked on.
- Project proposals are due by 4 pm on the LAST day
of classes: please
place one copy of your proposal (do not staple--use
paper clip) in Dr. Beason's inbox, ABL
326.
