BIOE 301 - Bioengineering and World Health

Course Information - Spring 2007

This course provides an overview of contemporary technological advances to improve human health. The course opens with an introduction to the epidemiology and physiology of the major human health problems. With this introduction, the main focus of the course is to examine the engineering method as applied to medical technologies. The course also considers legal and ethical issues associated with developing new medical technologies. The course is designed for non-engineering majors.

Prerequisites: None

 

Instructor: Team teaching by senior graduate students and postdocs from various departments.
