    Our project implements a 4th order lowpass FIR filter to be used in audio applications. It passes all frequencies up to 20 KHz at which point it attenuates until approximately 30 KHz. This project is significant as the filter could be used in an item such as a digital hearing aid. The input and output signals are both 8-bit signals in two's complement. The main components of our system are the FIFO, an 8-bit multiplier, the PLA control unit, a 16-bit adder, an accumulator and the ROM.
