I am the George and Cynthia Mitchell Professor in Sustainable Development at the Department of Economics and a Center for Energy Studies Scholar at the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University. I conduct interdisciplinary research on questions related to the economics of emerging infectious diseases, economic policy and resilience during pandemics, climate economics and the energy transition, biological markets, and conservation policy.
