Course Description:
This course is designed to introduce students to statistical methodology useful for data analysis. Emphasis will be placed on applications through working examples and computer-assisted data analysis in lab sessions.

Homework: 30%
Tests: 30%
Midterm 1 12.5%
Midterm 2 12.5%
Quizzes 5%
Weekly Lab Assignments: 10%
Comprehensive Final: 20%
Final Project: 10%
Homework Policy:
Students are
encouraged to collaborate on the problems, but write-ups must be independent
work. Late assignments will be penalized
20% each. Homework will not be accepted more than one class period late.
Tests:
There will be two in class midterms (i.e. 50 minutes) and a comprehensive scheduled final exam. Small, unannounced quizzes (~ 5 minutes) will be administered regularly.
Final Project:
Project (5-10 pages in length) will be discussed in greater detail in March and will be due the last week of classes.
Laboratories:
Everyone is assigned to a particular lab session. Lab instructors will hold these sessions, and the weekly lab assignment is due by the end of the following week’s session. Attendance at the lab sessions is not mandatory. You may complete the assignment on your own, as long as it is turned in (to your lab instructor or to us) before the end of your assigned lab session. [Labs more than 1 week late will NOT be accepted].

5-6 pm Sundays, 3-4 pm Tuesdays, and 5-6 pm Thursdays
Lab Location: Symonds II, Duncan Hall 1020 (Located outside the main Duncan Hall).

computers in this laboratory. To create

and go to Change PC/Mac password. Please
obtain a campus PC Password prior to coming to the first lab.
