Dr.
Lijie Ci

Dr. Lijie Ci joined Prof. Ajayan's group
at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute in July 2005. Dr. Lijie received his Ph.D from
Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2001. He had research positions
in other countries as postdoctoral research fellow in Physics
Institute, Chinese Academic Sciences for two years and later as K.C.
Wong and French government postdoctoral fellow for one year. Dr. Lijie
was also awarded Alexander von Humboldt research fellowship and had
worked at Max-Planck Institute for Metal research, Stuttgart, Germany.
His current research focus is on the controllable growth of carbon
nanotubes (SWCNTs, DWCNTs and MWCNTs) and their applications

Dr.
Ashavani Kumar
|
Dr.
Ashavani Kumar received his
Ph.D. in Chemistry from the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune (India).
His research interests are in the field of nanoparticle synthesis,
surface functionalization and their assembly in various structures
using templates. Dr. Kumar also work on biomineralization, enzyme
immobilization on biocompatible surfaces, hydrophobization of
nanoparticles and biomacromolecules, Langmuir Blodgett film and self
organized lipid
film.

Dr. Shaijumon
M. Manikoth joined Prof. Ajayan's group at
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in November 2005. He received his Ph.D
in Physics from Indian Institute of
Technology Madras (India) under the guidance of Prof. S. Ramaprabhu in
2005 and MSc in Physics from Calicut
University (India). His research interests are in the field of
Carbon nanostructures and Energy storage, focusing on the synthesis
of novel hybrid nanostructures, energy generation and storage using
nanostructures, design and development of flexible energy
storage devices such as batteries, supercapacitors and PEM fuel cells.

Dr. Leela Mohana Reddy
received his Ph.D
in Physics from Indian Institute of
Technology Madras (India) in 2007 and M.Sc in Physics from Sri
Venkateswara University (India). Before moving to Rice University, Dr.
Reddy worked as a post doctoral research associate in the
Department of
Chemistry at University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, USA. His research
interests are in the field of
controlled growth of carbon nanostructures and Energy storage and
conversion, with a focus on low temperature Fuel Cells and
Supercapacitors.

Dr. Li Song joined Prof. Ajayan group at Rice University in August 2008. He received his Ph.D from Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing China, in 2006. Dr. Li Song was awarded Alexander von Humboldt research fellowship and had worked in Nanophysics group at University of Munich LMU, Munich Germany, from November 2006 to June 2008. His current research focus is on the suspended Nano-Electro-Mechanical Systems (NEMS) and the optical & electronic transport properties of Nanoscale devices, such as carbon nanotubes, graphene and hybrid nanosystems. |
