Underwater Vehicle
An unmanned underwater vehicle has many possible uses. The offshore petroleum industry requires underwater inspections and servicing in normal operations. Two approaches to this problem have been taken. The first was a remote controlled device capable of high maneuverability. It worked well in shallow fresh water. The second was a tethered device which might very well be necessary in open ocean water. No attempts were made at developing inspection or repair capabilities.
