Week #1: January 12 -- 16
Homework #1:
NOT Due.
- Read:
- Book Chapter 1 and Section 1 of Chapter 2.
- Manual (third edition) Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 up
to page 24. Chapter 1 is a very
elementary introduction to MATLAB. However, be sure to read the
section on Recording Your Work. Chapter 2 is on plotting functions,
a skill that you will use throughout the semester. You will want to
learn how to use both the command ezplot and the command
plot
You will maximize the speed at which you learn if you read
the manual at your computer and execute the commands as you read about them.
- Exercises:
- Book:
Chapter 1 is pretty much a review. If you cannot work
the exercises in Sections 2 and 3, please talk with
your instructor.
- Manual: p. 25, #11, 25, 26.
If you have
time, you should work some of the other problems to get a feel for
how MATLAB operates.
