  • Sue Wen Chiao (SWC) graduated from Rice in 1998 with a degree in Linguistics and Materials Science and is now a graduate student in Linguistics at UC-Berkeley.

  • Suzanne Kemmer (SK) is an Associate Professor in Linguistics at Rice. She is a specialist in Cognitive Semantics, Language Universals and Typology, and Language Change. Other interests include African and Austronesian Languages and cognitive/functional approaches to grammar.

  • Melissa McConachie (MMC) is a senior Linguistics major at Rice.

  • Maureen McGuckin (MMG) is a senior Linguistics major at Rice.

  • Sergio Meira (SM) is a Linguistics graduate student at Rice. His primary specialty is Amazonian languages; he has done fieldwork on several indigenous languages in Brazil.

  • John Newell (JN) received his masters degree in Linguistics at Rice in 1998, with a thesis titled "Metaphor in a Neurocognitive Theory of Language."

  • Ada Rohde (AR) is a Linguistics graduate student at Rice. Her primary interests are Semantics, Cognitive Linguistics, and English Linguistics.

  • Emily Schafer (ES) is a senior Linguistics major at Rice. She is interested in Neurolinguistics and Cognitive Science.
