The Forum was a success! We won the following awards:
- First Place (Undergraduate), given by the RASC-AL judges panel. As part of our first place award, we are being sponsored to go to the Space 2006 conference in San Jose, CA in September!
- Forum Favorite, given to the team rated by all teams' students and advisors as having the best overall presentation, poster, participation, etc. at the conference.
- Dr. John L. McLucas Award for Study of Space Safety; this award was given by the Arthur C. Clarke Foundation in recognition of our work on the Osteonexus and our efforts to provide for future astronaut safety. This award was made through the International Space University of Strasbourg, France and the Universities Space Research Association. (New! We've done something special with this award; click here to find out more!)
HPN would like to thank the USRA for giving us the opportunity to compete at the Forum!
From their website:
The RASC-AL Forum 2006 will be held at the Radisson Resort at the Port in Cape Canaveral, Florida from May 21-25, 2006.
The Forum provides an opportunity for student design teams to present research revolutionary design projects to peers, representatives from NASA and industry. The organization of the Forum includes a combination of student team presentations, interspersed with technical presentations from NASA, industry, or university professionals, a poster session and fun activities to motivate team interaction.
