Sophomore Double-Bedroom Suite Room Draw Form

Please fill out the following form if you are applying for a Sophomore Double-Bedroom Suite. There are two available in Jones Central. Four People live in these suites, but you apply for them as a pair of two. Upon receiving the suite, you choose your other two roommates.

Number of classification points Individuals receive 1 classification point for each semester they have been enrolled at Rice or have been studying abroad in a Rice-approved program. Individuals who transferred to Rice from another university receive additional classification points for each non-AP and non-summer school hours they transferred according to the following formula:

0-11 hours = 0 points

12-22 hours = 1 point

23-38 hours = 2 points

39-54 hours = 3 points

55 or more hours = 4 points

NOTE: No one can have more than 7 classification points; those that would have 8 or more receive only 4.

Number of VMO points Individuals receive 2 VMO points if they have lived off campus or studied abroad for 1 semester or more, after voluntarily declaring this intention before a previous bump draw. Individuals receive 1 VMO point if they transferred 39 or more non-AP and non-summer school hours to Rice from another university, or will serve as President, Executive VP, Chief Justice, Treasurer, or SA Senator during the upcoming year. Individuals who served as President, Executive VP, Chief Justice, or Treasurer during their junior (third year) at Rice also receive 1 VMO point.

NOTE: No one can have more than 2 VMO points.
