The class assignment for the Volcano WWW report is
for each team to describe a particular volcano, most of which are
chosen from the list of Decade
Volcanoes. In addition are included two
currently active volcanoes omitted from that list (Soufriere
Hills, Montserrat and Popocatapetl, Mexico), and the area of Long
Valley, California which is exhibiting
signs of unrest. All of these volcanoes pose significant threats to
local populations, and most are active or likely to erupt sometime
within the next decade.
A complete
list of the volcanoes assigned to each
team (and names of the team members) are posted on the WWW.
The WWW reports should include as a minimum
the following types of information along with photos, maps, tables,
related links, etc. as well as a list of all references used.
(Contact the instructors if you find insufficient information to
cover these topics for your volcano)
This project is due on 26 March. Please bring the URL address for
your report to class on that day.
A Warning!
Be sure to save your Earthquake Report as a distinct file. If you use the file name 'index.html' you may overwrite the first report.
A suggestion is to reserve the name 'index.html' for your personal webpage - this page could contain whatever you like. For example, it might contain links to your various class WWW reports.
The actual reports might be best saved as, for example, 'Group1_EQ_report.html', Group5_Volcanoes.html, etc. to distinguish them and prevent inadvertent losses of your files.
