Notes of 0.5u process AMI C5 process

For MOSIS submission, we will need to use the magic_05 version as required this fall. This invokes a different version of magic and the appropriate technology file and translates to:

magic_subm –T SCN3ME_SUBM.30

You may need to run “unlimit” from the shell if you run out of memory as your designs get larger.

The major design rule difference between the current version and the previous 1.56u technology is that poly spacing is 3 lambda. Note that although the process is considered to be 0.5u, the lambda values is rounded up to 0.3u, so that it seems to be a 0.6u process.

Design files for 0.5u process:

All of these files are installed in /usr/site/cad

lib/scmos30.prm - Changed resistance values to use AMI-specific numbers.

*Note* - Use this on the irsim command line.

lib/mpla/p-AMI30.mag - Template for mpla.  Use platool_subm or invoke specifically

          when creating a decoder.

lib/pplot/pat.scmos.[bw|color] - BW/Color definitions to make pplot compatible

          with 0.5u process.

lib/magic/sys/mos.7bit.dstyle5 - Needed slight changes for making contacts

          visible in 0.5u.

lib/magic/scmos/palette.mag - Color and layer pallete including 0.5u process.

bin/platool_subm - platool script that uses the current 0.5u mpla template.

I/O Pads for 0.5u process:

lib/magic/scmos/pad_06/Pad*.mag - Pads and constructed pad frame for 0.5u for

the default 40pin TinyChip DIP package.

/home/elec422/2002/padframe_65pga/Pad*.mag – Same pads as above but constructed

pad frame for either a 65 PGA or 84 PGA package for double size TinyChip.
