The following information is
for guidance only. In general, you will be responsible for all
material covered up until the exam is given, unless otherwise noted.
Histograms of Exam Results
Exam 1:
- Scheduled for Wed., Sept. 22, 2004, in class.
- Will cover material up to and including Section 13 in H.T.D.P.
- Will cover all lecture, homework and lab materials covered prior to the
exam date.
- The exam will be closed-book, closed-notes, open-minds.
- You will need to write approx. 10 functions, all less than 6 lines of
code each.
- There are very short essay questions too--2 to 3 sentences each.

- Practice Exams: (Note: This semester's
exam may not follow last semester's exam exactly in terms of the types and
number of questions asked!):
- Fall 2003 Exam 1 not solved,

Exam 2:
- Take-home scheduled to
become available the evening of Wed. Oct. 20, 2004.
- While the length of the exam is unchanged, the
time limit has been extended to 5 hours to
help people relax while taking the exam.
- You may download the exam any time after it is
available, but you may not open it until you are ready to start.
All work must be completed in a single continuous time period.
- All work must be
completed DURING A CONTIGUOUS TIME PERIOD BETWEEN WED.
EVENING AND MONDAY MORNING. Printed
and signed copies of the exam are
due at the beginning of class Monday, Oct. 25, 2004.
- Open book, open
notes, open Internet. Open minds,
but closed to other people, of course.
You may use the DrScheme Help Desk.
- All work is to be completed inside the DrScheme project file, using
comments when necessary.
- The only resources you may use are DrScheme and its help system, except
that you may check the Comp210 home page or
WebCT for announcements.
- Dr. Nguyen and/or Dr. Wong will monitor their
e-mail and WebCT chat (general chat and/or chat-with-labbies) on Wed.
and Thurs. evenings, from approx. 7:30 PM- 11:30 PM.
E-mail us first at other times. A timely response, is
not guaranteed, especially after Saturday afternoon!
- The only people you may discuss the exam with are Dr.
Nguyen and
Dr. Wong.
- The full Honor code applies, a signed, printed copy of your
DrScheme file will be required to be turned in on the due date.
- Will cover material up to and including Section 24 in H.T.D.P.
- It is highly recommended that you complete
HW08 before attempting the exam!
- Will cover all lecture, homework and lab materials covered prior to the
exam date, including all material from Exam 1.
- Need-to-knows
- The exam may use the draw.ss teachpack, so be sure that it is loaded on your
system and that you review how to create a canvas and draw lines with with
it.

Exam 3:
