Homework:

Homework will be assigned on a weekly basis and will be due each Thursday (expect the first week of classes).  Please hand in your homework in during class, or that same day in my office (under my door if I’m not there) by noon.  Late homework will not be accepted, but the lowest homework grade will be dropped.

Homework is not pledged, and you may work together.  However, you must write up your own solutions to turn in for a grade.  It is encouraged that you try problems first by yourself.

I will also give exercises in class that maybe be turned in with the homework for extra credit (points will be added to your homework).  Please mark these problems clearly when you turn them in and hand them in separately from the homework.  Note: I will not post these problems on the website.

Grades:

Grades will be assigned on the standard scale and may be subject to adjustment at the end of the semester.  Grades are determined by the following:

Homework: 30%

Each Midterm Exam: 20%

Final: 30%
