GRADING in this class will be on absolute scale based on performance on midterms, homeworks and final exam. A total of 1000 points will be awarded broken down as follows:

Homeworks (12 assigments) 240 pts.
Midterm Exams I and II 230 pts. each
Final Exam 300 pts.

Students can request regrades for exams and problems sets if after looking at the key they feel an error was made. The entire assignment will be regraded, and additional regrades cannot be requested. Regrades will only be accepted up to one week after assignments are returned, except in the case of the final where requests must be made within 24 hours.

 

EXAMS will include a cumulative final exam and two midterm exams. All exams are take-home exams. Midterm I will be given on October 12, and to be returned on October 19 in class. Midterm II will be handed out on November 14 (to be returned on November 21 in class). Final exam will be given on December 7, and it should be returned before 5pm on Wednesday, December 20. No late exams will be accepted.

 

HOMEWORKS: There will be 12 assigned problem sets which will be handed usually on Tuesdays (due 1 week after in the class). The first homework will be assigned on August 29 (due September 5).
