Update of Professor Hirasaki’s MATLAB modules (VDW.m and VDWDATA.m)

 

        This portion of the project has updated Professor Hirasaki’s VDW.m and VDWDATA.m MATLAB modules to calculate adsorption of gases in a column.  Originally, the program contained data only for n-C7H16.  Now the modules have been updated for n-C5H12, n-C6H14, n-C8H18, n-C9H20, n-C10H22­­.

 

Background information of the 2D van der Waals Equation of State may be read on Professor Hirasaki’s notes.

 

Experimental data was used for Hamaker constants (Hough 1980).  The interaction distance h­i was assumed to remain constant.
