Parallel- and Counter-Flow Heat Exchangers

This project demonstrates the use of MAPLE to solve simple double-pipe heat exchanger problems. Our Project includes the solution to Bird, Stewart, and Lightfoot Example 15.4-2. Also, we have included a sample problem and a typical temperature profile.

In the sample problem, we have compared the differences in parallel- and counter-flow; specifically, we have shown the differences in required cooling water and exchanger surface areas for different cases.
