Section 1.3 Other Menus
The Edit Menu
Clicking on the Edit button brings up a menu of screen related operations. Among these are common wondowing operations such as:
Don't miss the last two items: they allow you to execute a selection or all the commands in a window, or cut out the output from commands that have been executed.
The View Menu
Bringing up the View menu show a number of options connected with your window. you can change the bars of icons in the window, bring up palette windows that are useful in inserting greek symbols, and objects of different shapes. You can also change the zoom factor for the window.
The Insert Menu
This menu can be used to insert text at thend of a command line or in a whole section of the window. You can also insert other objects such as plots, images or page breaks.
The Format Menu
Allows you to change the format of your text to make it bold or different sizes. These changes can also be set in styles that are repeated in different parts of a window.
The Tools Menu
The Tools menu includes Spell checking and Unit Changes as well as an extensive list of tools that can be accessed for use in your session.
The Window Menu
This menu is most often used to open different widows that may be used together.
The Help Menu
This may be the most important menu of all! It gives you a variety of ways the find information about different Maple commands, pacakges and procedures. You should become very familiar with its use.
