Journal Club Presentation
- Each student will give a presentation on one or
more scientific articles; choose
a topic from the list
of articles and
post your request on the Blog in OWL-Space by the 3rd day
of lab
- You will give a 15 minute journal club style
presentation
in PowerPoint
- The journal club presentation, which is 25% of your
final grade, is one way we evaluate your understanding of
the molecular biology used in designing genetic circuits
and your ability to communicate these findings in an appropriate
and accurate manner
- Student presentations will be given from 1-2 p.m. on
lab days 5-8; see the Presentation

Remember to address weaknessess/inconsistencies in the study -- do the results support the authors' conclusions?
- We will use the Presentation
Evaluation Form (313JClub_eval_F10.pdf in OWL-Space Resources) to grade your presentation
- You're expected to read ALL the articles for each day,
even the day you are presenting; be prepared to
discuss each article and ask questions. See How
