• Your team will prepare a single scientific poster.
  
  • Remember, this poster is a TEAM project, and each member will receive the SAME grade.
    Therefore, EACH of you is responsible for the ENTIRE poster, not just the part(s) you worked on.
  • The poster, which is 40% of your final grade, is how we evaluate your understanding of the molecular biology used in our laboratory investigation and your ability to communicate your findings in an appropriate and accurate manner.
  • Unlike BIOC 311 where you prepared rough drafts of each section of the paper and received feedback from me on how to improve those sections for the final paper, you do not prepare a "poster rough draft." There is no prescriptive checklist to follow while preparing your poster; you are expected to use the guidelines and resources we give you along with the tools you've acquired throughout your undergraduate training to prepare a professional, effective poster.
  • We will use the BIOC 413 Poster Evaluation Form [available in OWL-Space Resources] to grade your poster.
    Poster CONTENT accounts for 75% of your grade; poster APPEARANCE accounts for 25%.

• Please read my Honor Code Policy for BIOC 413.
  
  
• A full-size printed poster (3x4 feet) is due ~ TWO weeks after the last day of lab.
  PLEASE E-MAIL ME THE FINAL PowerPoint VERSION OF YOUR POSTER ON THE DAY YOUR POSTER IS DUE.
  
  
• You will be asked a question(s) about your poster to test your knowledge and expertise.
  Thus, you are expected to understand the rationale behind all of the experimental procedures and the meaning of the results.
  
  Your posters will be available to you at the Q/A session; therefore, a really good poster may help you with your answer.
