The Saccharomyces cerevisiae genome was screened to identify genes that were differentially expressed in wild type and bud31 null mutant strains. Total RNA was isolated from wild type and mutant yeast. cDNA was generated using reverse transcriptase and labeled with the Genisphere 3DNA Submicro EX Expression Array Detection Kit. Microarrays containing the full Saccharomyces genome were obtained from The University of Texas Southwestern Microarray Core Facility. Slides were scanned with an Axon Instruments GenePix 4000B Scanner and analyzed with GenePix Pro 4.0 software.
