An opportunity for students to tackle and solve
a design problem in bioengineering.
Course Format:
- Senior year-long course
- Teams of 4 or 5 students work on one problem for the whole year taking it from design problem formulation to prototyping and testing
- Generate a design solution to a biomedical problem
- Teams build a prototype of the device
- Test and prove that their device is effective
- Along the way the teams also
- Develop business and marketing plans
- Learn about historical biomedical failures to avoid
- Study ethical issues that they may face in their careers
- Develop a business and marketing plan for their devices.
