Course Overview


Overview

BIOE 400 enables undergraduates in Bioengineering to perform research during the semester in a faculty members laboratory. Students are advised by the faculty member and often mentored by a graduate student or post-doc fellow in the lab.

Students may register for between 1 to 4 credit hours depending on the project and student's course schedule (Note: 1 credit hour is equivalent to 3 contact hours in the laboratory per week). The BIOE 400 course may be repeated multiple times.

BIOE 400 - Engineering Undergraduate Research
Independent investigation of a specific topic or problem in modern bioengineering research under the direction of a selected faculty member. Research project has a strong engineering component.
