This course provides an overview of contemporary technological advances to improve human health. The course opens with an introduction to the epidemiology and physiology of the major human health problems. With this introduction, the main focus of the course is to examine the engineering method as applied to medical technologies. The course also considers legal and ethical issues associated with developing new medical technologies.

 

 

Bioengineering and World Health has been approved by the Texas Education Agency as an innovative course for science state elective credit.
