Playing Fields Group
Appendix A: Survey

Surveys, being an integral part of research, were integrated into our investigation in all applicable areas.  We aimed to keep our survey short and concise while covering many different areas.  We randomly surveyed approximately 250 Rice undergraduates.  All surveys were distributed in various classes and in various colleges.  Efforts were made to avoid repeat subjects.  Upon completion of our survey we discovered flaws that were not noticed earlier, in particular, the final question on the survey about parking lots.  When asking the question it was not stated which parking lots were intended for conversion.  This caused fear among students of having to walk farther to their cars, skewing the results that we obtained.
