What do these three categories describe? They are the primary ways one can divide the potential "Cues" into areas of relative importance. In particular, this schema allows for the Character's individual actions as the primary cues of the film, with the film's setting as secondary and its editing and other properties of the filmmaker's process as the tertiary clues to the interpretation.
In particular, I have chosen to show the bulls-eye view of a few clues found in the film I interpreted closely. The image below will separate some of the particular clues of the film into the three catagories. For example, the particular uniforms, technology and music suggest a time period central to the ideas of this film's interpretation. They all fall within the secondary theme of surroundings.
