• If you haven't paid your $25 for your trowel and field notebook, now's the time!!

• Camping is CANCELLED tonight (Friday) due to bad weather. We're meeting at the dig site tomorrow (Saturday the 11th). You should try to leave Rice around 6:15am or so to get there by 8:00am.
• Also, if you haven't paid your $25 for your trowel and your field book, rememember to do that as soon as possible!

• First excavation weekend is this week (Feb 4-5). If you need a ride to the site, start contacting people now! The class roster is now up on the website so you can find e-mail addresses.


• Remember-- if you need a sleeping bag or any other camping gear you *must* contact Tom (tgray@) IMMEDIATELY or else you'll be roughing it out in the cold and wet all by yourself-- not pleasant!


• Do one final check on what you need to bring camping. Start to worry about this now-- don't wait until Friday!

• The lists for camp duties and site report parts have been posted on the door of the archaeology lab. Remember two things: (1) The positions are first come first serve so sign up fast if you have your heart set on something, and (2) make sure you sign up once on each of the lists.

• Trowels and field notebooks are *required* for the course. You must sign up by tomorrow (Thursday, Jan. 19) at noon if you want to buy a trowel/notebook with thegroup sale. The total cost is $25. And remember, if your name is down on the list after tomorrow at noon you must pay up or you won't get a grade!!

• You must sign up for *both* a camp/lab duty and a site report contribution. The sign-up sheet will be posted Tuesday the 24th at noon. Remember that it's first come, first serve so don't be late if you really want a particular job!
