Research Problem
Old TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign
Language) became ETS's valuable assessment assets ever since the
new TOEFL was launched. Therefore it is meaningful to explore approaches
to reuse these assets.
Solution - Procedure
- Reviewed the literature of the English
grammar instruction -- particulary computer-assisted English
grammar instruction
- Reviewed the adaptive instruction literature
and summarized the adaptive features that are implemented
in previous research
- Familarized with the available TOEFL
assessment assets at ETS
- Completed a proposal on how to develop
an adaptive learning system of English Grammar, including
both macro- and micro- adaptive features.
- Designed the interfaces of the learning
system and programmed the prototype on the client side.
- Completed a research paper on this
project
