V. Other Shrines to John Lennon
John Lennon is enshrined in the music he left and the ideas embedded in it. In addition to the many shrines in cyberspace dedicated to John Lennon, there is a shrine that orbits the sun, just as we do, in outer space.
The minor planet Lennon The minor planet was discovered January 12, 1983, and named Lennon in his honor. It circles our sun in a 3.6-year elliptical orbit, ranging in distance from 325 million km at perihelion (closest point to the sun) to 382 million km aphelion (furthest point from the sun.) And so, in real space as well as in cyber space, our Lennon shines on.
