Petros T. BoufounosRice University, ECE Dept., MS 380 About MeI was born and raised in Athens, Greece and lived there until I was 18 years old. I attended Athens College, one of the better known high schools in Greece, graduating in June '96. I started my long tenure at MIT in September of '96 , and I have managed to stay here for nearly 10 years. I received a B.S. in Economics ('00), and a B.S. ('02), an M.Eng. ('02), and an Sc.D. ('06), all in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I completed my masters' and doctoral research in the Digital Signal Processing Group, part of the Research Laboratory for Electronics, under the supervision of Alan V. Oppenheim. I was also a postdoctoral associate in the DSP Group until August 2006. Since September 2006 I am a postdoctoral associate in the DSP group in the ECE Department at Rice University. The main focus of my research is compressive sensing. During my master I was also a member of the BioMEMS lab in the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research working on DNA sequencing and the basecalling of electrophoresis signals. I have also been an intern in the Mitsubishi Electric Research Lab, working with Paris Smaragdis on multichannel signal processing, especially the analysis of microphone array data. |
