A series of four attempts....

The original chimpanzee with his apple.... The original Barbie doll woman.....

The original backdrop....

And the final result is....

King Kong!

I used a variety of layering techniques and incorporated the "magic wand" to produce this piece. A bit of free-hand work went into constructing the woman's skirt since the original picture of her was only her upper half. The flowing skirt also works with her failing arms as she makes a half-hearted attempt to get away from the big monkey. The sky in the distance provides a nice scale touch to the scene.

Three little froggies....

A little city scene....

A beautiful texture...

AND...

It's raining frogs!

Here I played with a little more opacity layering as well as manipulating the images. Before creating the collage I had to adjust the size of the frogs so that there were not grossly out of scale. Although most of the frogs are hidden, I couldnt resist letting a little green frog sit in the spotlight. The texture map is used as a screen in front of the people image to create that dark and cloudy look that would happen if frogs were falling from the sky.

The boy in the pool.....

And unfortunately I was unable to find the other image that went with it. So i did a rough imitation that goes a little like this....

Boy in a floating Cheerio!

I ran into a few problems finding a bowl of Cheerios for my little friend to swim in- most likely copywrite laws got in the way. So if you can imagine that orange thing with a little shading on it is a giant Cheerio and his mom/grandmother/babysitter is no longer in the picture. Most of the techniques here were used to erase unwanted items in the water and leave this baby boy with only the water and the Cheerio.

One final project....

A group of classy photos involving Karoke...

And the spirit of the moment is captured.

I used filters, color adjustment, stylizing, infill, text, etc... This was an attempt to ocerload the senses with lights and actions because still photos sometimes don't quite capture the moment in one photograph.

*dislclaimer: all photos in the first three projects were taken from FreeFoto.com, the last project was a personal collection
